GREATER BODIES

  1. The overarching bodies of Golf NZ, Waikato Golf, and Sport Waikato do not )(at this time):

    1. Have training for officers pursuant to:

    2. The Incorporated Societies Act 2022.

    3. The Incorporated Societies Regulations 2023.

    4. Employment Relations Act 2000.

    5. The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.

    6. Health and Safety at Work (General Risk and Workplace Management) Regulations 2016.

    7. The principles of natural justice.

    8. The principles of administrative justice (law).

  2. Golf NZ has a compliance section on its website that does not refer to this:

    1. Governance (golf.co.nz)

    2. resource centre- governance - induction.pdf (golf.co.nz)

    3. Nowhere does it point to the legislative changes or any legislation or principles of law that form the fundamental lawful obligations, the must do, for officers.

    4. Subsequently, the entire sport is likely unaware of the actual responsibilities at this time.

    5. I am informed that you pay ninety (90) dollars per person per year ($27,000 for 300 members) for this service.

  3. Waikato Golf has even less:

    1. https://www.waikatogolf.co.nz/

  4. Given this you should be very concerned about that. Getting the proper advice and training is essential for the survival of every Club in the Country and it appears likely that these bodies are not engaged in this process at this time.
